Welp, June 15th 2010 is an important date haha. Congratulations Drake! Your debut album is out and it's great. It's errrrrrthang I thought it would be.
So my friend & I are stuck in the airport. We decided to have our own 'Thank Me Later' photo shoot in the while we're waiting for our plane to come... The album is great!! I'll be listening a lot. Hopefully our flight will come soon so we can make it home to Maryland tonight. I need some rest from all this TML hype lol :)
"I used to cut the porch lights on, and now I cut the porch lights on just to let 'em know their foresight's wrong."
Foresight is a funny thing. I think Drake has a thing for going against people's expectations.
I, for one thought the "Best I Ever Had" video was hilarious, because it goes against the cliche music video where the guy walks along with his girl tell her how she's (allegedly) the best he's ever had. Drake made it funny & he also got to act in the video. A lot of people didn't like it though, because it wasn't the cliche stuff they expected.
The same thing happened with the "Find Your Love" video. A lot of generic people expected it to have shots of Drake & his love interest running through fields of summer sunshine falling in love lol. This didn't happen. Instead Drake expressed a message. I think it was a cool, grim idea.
Whatever it is, I think Drake likes to be unpredictable, keep people on the edge of their seat, & say what he wants to say with his music. With basically each new release, he lets the public know their foresight is wrong.
"I'm perfecting my craft using _____. Tryna make some cheese off a single is a process. Get it? Craft, single, cheese, process. Sit back and admire the talent that I possess."
Yeaaaah. I like "The Presentation", a semi-introductory song on Drake's sophomore mixtape "Comeback Season." This song definitely reminds me of bright summer days and driving in fast cars lol. The main thing about this track is that the beat switches about a third of the way through & the second beat sounds good. I think I'll keep posting interesting Drake lyrics. I'll be able to comment on his experience with different women & people in the industry lol. I know Thank Me Later will be full of good listening music.
Drake's JUNO Nominations. His mom talks about what Drake has had to sacrifice. Alicia Keys speaks on how Drake is in the studio. Plus, the baby picture is so cute. Good stuff. P.S.- Drake you need to let me interview you on May 5th at your Towson University show NOW! TML, June 15th

Drake brings a fan on stage, dances with her, and kisses her on the forehead during his show at Slippery Rock University. This is adorable. LUCK. LIFE. LOVE.
Drake began his college tour last night, on April 5th at Slippery Rock University in Pennsylvania. The crowd loved him! Check out this great medley of his performance last night. In this video he also premieres a song from his 'Thank Me Later' called Fireworks. It sounds good. Can't wait to see him in Baltimore, MD on May 5th.
*meanwhile...*
I'm still trying to interview Drake for ABC TV 2 News at his concert on May 5th. Drake, if you see this, I NEED that interview with you!! twitter.com/mstvanka.
This is something that Drake posted online about his upcoming album 'Thank Me Later". You won't be able to find & download it for free online. Not this time, he's saying. But Drake says this genuinely as he explains that he wants his album to be released the right way. He also respects the hard work that all other artists have put into his album. He even quoted a former British Prime Minister lol. Most of all he's worked hard and he's excited for the release. I'm excited for the album, and it's nice to see his point of view on the release. The real opinion of an artist is sometimes hard to find or paid off into silence. How sad, lol. Here are the exact words from Drake to us:
"The sun just came out. I mean I haven't seen it yet cause I am in the studio but I know it did. So good morning. I am working on the last song for Thank Me Later. What a different journey it's been this go round. I wish I could share so much more with you but there are just too many new people involved who have dedicated their time to "the reveal". Should I just post the entire thing up now and say no the methods and yes to the mayhem???? Ha. I'd love too, but this is something special that I feel needs to be delivered to you in the way you deserve it to be. Remember the days of well thought out visuals, album thank you's, funk flex rants, all the things that came with the release of a new album, the things we'd look forward to...well I hope I can make you remember. I've worked hard on this body of work and I feel like every artist involved has given me their absolute best. I cannot wait till it's yours. The relief I will experience on release day will be euphoric. I look in peoples eyes and see not so much the doubt, but the uncertainty, the question that looms...and whatever the answer is I think we're both ready for it. These overwhelming moments are to be cherished. On that note fond readers, I will see u soon somewhere along the way. Mr. Walters pull the car around front...its time to go home.

(I heard J Cole was incredible at SOB's tonight...mazel tov and enjoy the high my good man! )"
Soon come. For everyone who is as anxious as I am, Drake's album 'Thank Me Later' is set to be released on May 25, 2010. I'll be happy to have music from him that is palpable! Until then, keep the impatience alive. lol
Nicki Minaj and Drake discuss the surprise performance at Jay-Z's Madison Square Garden Concert in New York. They also talk about what it was like to be on stage with Lil Wayne who gave the audience the biggest surprise of all by not yet being in jail. Drake also gives a little secret of who he was glad to smile at in the front row : )
Looking at the photos alone, can you recognize these two?
Drake and Nicki Minaj in their cute school pictures. This means we all have to take good ones because the awful high school photos WILL surface time and time again in life.
You'll be able to catch these two performing on MTV Spring Break '10. They'll be heading to Acapulco, Mexico. You can count on Drake performing his popular new single "Over" and Nicki Minaj introducing her "Massive Attack". More Young Money members will be there to perform the lovely "BedRock". *everybody loves that song.* lol
