Yep, it's Friday July 2nd and Ground Up has released their latest mixtape 'Higher Ground'.

Ground Up - Sweet 16 Appearance

Me and Azar, Malakai, & Bij Lincoln of music group "Ground Up".

The first is a picture of me and the members of music group Ground Up.

This weekend Ground Up performed for a bunch of eager fans at "Morgan's Deliciously Sweet 16".

They did a variety of songs including "Relax", "Lovehate", "Late Night Special", and "Just Chill". Different people in the crowd were cheering, others were listening, but by the end of the show everyone was chanting the song everybody wanted to hear: "Palm Trees".

Ground Up ended the show with "Palm Trees" and by wishing Morgan a great Sweet 16.

Ground Up & Wiz Khalifa?

Ground Up is a trio of talented artists and they're making their way to the top. They've already struck college students with their shows, good music, and vibes. Now they're moving to even bigger audiences.

Their newest endeavor? This show, too, is at a university but it's a little bit different.

Ground Up will perform at Penn State-University Park opening the show for Wiz Khalifa.

Both groups have connections to Pennsylvania as Cameron Jibril Thomaz /Wiz Khalifa is from Pittsburgh and Ground Up is based out of Philadelphia.

I'm excited for this show as GU takes it "one step at a time".

The show will take place on September 11, 2010 at 7:00p.m.

"Ground Up" Interview for ABC 2 News

I interviewed Ground Up, a rap group based out of Philadelphia.

They perform at a lot of different places here on the east coast.

They're made up of Malcolm (Malakai), Alex (Azar), and Bijan (Bij Lincs).

Bij Lincs is their producer and I found out about his background in music and how he creates it now.

Malcolm and Alex were great also. I learned about how they work off of each other to keep their rapping on the same page.
